Shadow Creek Golf Course

Location: Beijing, China

Golf Course Architect: Nicklaus Design

Scope: Landscape architecture

Size: 175 acres

Program: One 18 hole golf course and halfway houses.

Description: Working closely with Nicklaus Design, this project site began as a narrow wasteland located in a flood plane just minutes from the Beijing airport.  The design team together with a very capable shaping, contracting and landscape team converted the once wasteland to an extraordinary golf course.  Golfscape guided the transplanting and layout of some of the largest conifer (and other) trees moved in northern China to date (many in excess of 40’ heights).  Native grasses and plantings have been used to renaturalize the site and compliment the highly manicured fairways.  Shadow Creek has been praised by some as the best golf experience in China.
